Fanart Art Dump – Enjoy ๐Ÿ˜€

I don’t often do fanart. There’s a variety of reasons for this, and honestly, as a fan of many things, I really should do more! There are a lot of artists, shows, movies, books, and comics that I enjoy. I find the inspiration and enjoyment I get from the work of other artists usually motivates me to put that inspiration into my own work more than it inspires me to build on theirs. (That’s just my personality!) I’m deeply curious about storytelling, and how different mediums like art, movies, and writing can each tell stories in their own unique way. In the past, when I’ve been inspired to create fanart, I think it is because I like to explore that curiosity.

For example, I love thinking about how character design can help tell your story. Two of the most iconic character designs of all time are Buffy Summers from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Nightcrawler from Xmen. The way each character looks helps relay some of the most important parts of their own unique stories. Some of the most iconic examples of this are Kirk Wagner (Nightcrawler, X-Men) and Buffy Summers (Buffy the Vampire Slayer.)

Mistborn Fanart – Vin

This was a re-draw of an illustration I did about six years ago (left picture). Even back then, with my limited skill set and experience I was pretty proud of how the original turned out, but you can see a real difference in skill between then and now. ๐Ÿ˜€

She-Ra Fanart of Catradora ๐Ÿ˜€

I absolutely adore a good animated show, and I think She-Ra is one of the best. Not only is the animation stunning and the story compelling, it also has a spectacularly well written romance.

Below are two fanarts done from the works of Charlie N. Holmberg.

The Bad Kids from Fantasy High – one of my favorite DND podcasts. (Put on by Dimension 20 :D) I’m going to be honest – I almost didn’t post these because I kind of hated how they turned out lol. But! They’re also not that bad.
