Gallery

Welcome to my gallery. I’ve worked on a range of projects that span from logo design and branding, to children’s book illustration, to concept and promotional art. I work mostly digitally, but I also enjoy using physical mediums including paint, colored pencils, etc. My style is flexible, depending on the tone and demands of the project.

Illustration and Design
Some of my favorite work has been wood-block style black and white illustrations full of detail with a gothic style. When I illustrate more colorful works, I like to use vivid hues that create vibrant scenes with lots of detail. My illustrations have a strong expressive character to them, with a tendency towards whimsy I can’t seem to resist. I love a good story, and try to capture some elements of my favorite genres and works in almost every piece I create. From general audiences to children’s media, my work has been created with a wide and varied audience in mind.
When designing cover art, the most important factor is connecting with the story. I try to adapt the concepts and moods of the author to create the best work for the book. I use color, design, and layout to capture what the author had in mind for thier story. We always say don’t judge a book by it’s cover, but as an artist I know that this is the first interaction a reader will have with a story, and can set the tone of what is to come.
Alongside capturing a good story with with vibrant illustrations comes the technical side of things. It can be a fun challenge to ensure arrange all of the elements of a work in an engaging way, such as in Zine pages or on the cover of your book. The placement of different elements on the canvas can have an impact on how the reader interacts with a piece. I try to create work that engages the viewer’s imagination, and invites them in to a new world.
I’ve particularly enjoyed illustrating children’s books. Often authors aren’t sure what elements are important to include in an illustration, and I love to help people see how to the illustrations can be used to interpret the text and support their story. It’s a fun, involved process. Getting into a narrative and finding ways to highlight it’s best parts is an incredibly satisfying creative challenge.
Everyone loves the fun pieces like greeting cards, stickers, buttons, or even their own logo design. They have a universal appeal, and I love creating things anyone can enjoy. Textile designs, bookmarks, stickers, and greeting cards are little pieces of art that are accessible to and enjoyed by everyone. Many of my illustration pieces can be adapted into all sorts of interesting products that anyone can enjoy.
